Aim of Programme:

This Certificate will provide an introduction to the exciting field of computer programming. You will also gain an understanding of the field of information systems required by administrators.

Content:

This course covers knowledge and skills in computing programming, computer systems, ergonomics, IS department, project management, flatfile database, relational database, web design, help systems, and elective study.

Outcomes:

Graduates will have foundations knowledge of simple programming skills that apply to a chosen field of computing such as database macros, website maintenance, and help systems. They also have the skills for diploma level study and research projects.

Software:

Office Professional 2003 or Office Professional 2007 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.

Hardware:

A computer capable of running Windows XP or Vista, and Office XP Professional/Office Professional 2003/Office Professional 2007. (Including a monitor, mouse, CD-RW drive and modem.)
In order to install .NET software you will require 3G of free hard drive space.
