Course Recommendation
This programme of study recognises the diverse range of computer skills required for numerous business administration and information technology related positions. It consolidates learning in these topics ensuring a high level of competence. You will complete the core modules then select either a flat file or relational database elective depending on your preferred area of interest.
On successful completion of the required modules you will gain the National Certificate in Business Administration Level 4.
Oppotunities on Completion
A learner who has successfully completed this qualification can staircase onto a National Diploma in Business Administration (Level 5) or apply for computing and administrative positions in the workplace.

This programme is made up of modules. A module is a project or group of tasks that build towards meeting the performance criteria that you need to complete a unit standard. Modules in the NCBA4 programme are:
Core Modules:
Produce Advanced Workplace Documents
Code: BA1 24 credits
This module builds the learner’s ability to efficiently use the features and applications of a word processor to create, manipulate and format a range of documents in an appropriate business format. Learners require a good basic knowledge level of Word Processing features.
Communicate Effectively in a Culturally Diverse Workplace
Code: BA2 9 credits
This module teaches the learner communication strategies to effectively communicate in a culturally diverse workplace. The learner will develop strategies and create and deliver a presentation on these strategies.
Effective Business Writing
Code: BA3 4 credits
This module builds the learner’s ability to write effective documents in a business organisation.
Customer Service
Code: BA4 4 credits
Effective customer service is critical to any organisation and this module introduces the learner to strategies on how to respond to customer enquiries in writing.
Spreadsheets
Code: BA5 5 credits
This module teaches the learner how to use a spreadsheet as a tool to solve business problems using a variety of scenarios involving pricing, budgets and hire purchase.

Relational Database
Code: BA6 12 credits
This module introduces the learner to designing, creating, maintaining and using a relational computer database within an organisation.
Flat file Database
Code: BA7 13 credits
This module introduces the learner to designing, creating, maintaining and using a flatfile database within an organisation.

Software: MS Office Professional2007 or 2010, including Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.

Hardware: A computer capable of running MS Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 (including a monitor, keyboard, mouse, CD-RW/DVD-RW drive)
